~Mom's dining room~
I can't believe it...Everybody around me seems to be decorating for fall-I go visit blogs and all I see is Fall, Fall, Fall! Honestly, the only fall things I have are crafts that are waiting to be put in boxes and shipped out to my fall swap partners.
I headed over to Spokane to visit my parents, our daughter and grandsons this weekend. Even my Mom had started in on the fall decorating (see photo above.) There were wreaths in her home, pumpkins sitting all cute around her kitchen and a darling little fall welcome sign hanging on her door knob!
Am I the only one in blog land that hasn't started fall decorating in my home yet~? Tell me I'm not alone!
By the way, if you would like to learn how to make the topiaries in the photo above visit my mom's blog were she shows us how to make them HERE.
Yep, your the only one. Just kidding! I've heard lots of bloggers say they haven't decorated for fall yet. We have a couple months, I think it will be alright. Your mom's dining room is gorgeous. :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, I haven't really started yet...but I did buy some fall festive flowers the other day and plant them in a pot to set right next to my front door. So, maybe I've kind of begun.
ReplyDeleteRobin,
ReplyDeleteI seen where some others haven't decorated yet so....you are out of the clear (so far)I wanted to thank-you for the email and also for thinking of me.I love the topiaries. Thanks for sharing!!
Well, we haven't started Fall per say...but Kate has started pumpkins! She has spent hours decorating paper pumpkins, hole punching them and stringing them! It is her best art yet...next to last year's Fall string of leaves!
ReplyDeleteIf this counts, I have started FALL eating! mini sized halloween candy bars are my weakness!!
AY
Your Mom seems awesome. I am so lucky to have a daughter that loves to craft with me. I just posted some pumpkins we made together over the last few days. They are made out of elegant upholstery fabric. I love being a mom. : )
ReplyDeleteM.L.
No you aren't the only one who hasn't started decorating yet...I haven't either except for a 'welcome fall' sign in the garden. Besides that there are no pumpkins or candles out, nothing else that screams fall...though I might need to head to the store this weekend.
ReplyDeleteNot to worry you are not alone.
ReplyDeleteI had a funny thing happen last week when I bought a little pumpkin..everyone from the cashier to my family thought I was going to use it to decorate...but actually to their surprise it was my intention to eat it! Yummy!
Nope!!! Not one fall item in my house for decoration...I think I boxed them all up...I guess we'll just call this season a wash!!!
ReplyDeleteI havent started decorating for the fall yet either! But, I guess it is time!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to fall decorate! I was going to wait another week or so!
ReplyDeleteI know you are not the only one...but you know I can't WAIT till you start and we see what you do!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like to wait until if feels more fall. Because it can go on up until Thanksgiving easily. I think it is a little to early for me. I like the colors to be changing etc.
ReplyDeleteI do love fall though. The decorations are part of my favorite for sure. You are not alone.
I have a few things out but I too feel like I am so behind!!!LOL
ReplyDeleteWe can blame it on the new grandbabies coming...how or why I don't know but its a geed excuse don't you think??!!! We are so excited to see this little one, especially since my niece just had her baby girl last week....so now I'm a GREAT aunt!!!:0) But oh when I held her it put a longing in me for my baby grandson!!!
Hope you have a great week my friend!~Wendy
Hey Robin ♥
ReplyDeleteyou are NOT alone :)
I want to get started, though. I think I am going to start with a wreath for my front door :) that sounds like a quick & easy start!!
What's a decoration? I need help. I will click over to your mom's blog. M
ReplyDeleteI haven't started decorating yet. I have pulled out my tub-o-fall, and have started some projects. But I haven't actually decorated. But now that it's cooled into the mid 70's around here, I am sooo tempted to put up my scarecrow!
ReplyDeleteYou're not the only one. I have decorated but I have not posted about it. Guess we both better get busy.
ReplyDeleteI haven't started decorating for fall yet. I have thought about it though!
ReplyDeleteI haven't started decorating for fall yet. I have thought about it though!
ReplyDeleteOk I am defending myself here...I absolutely love fall, my favorite time of year. Summer is wonderful but way too hot ( I live in the mountains above Palm Springs). So to extend the joy, lengthen the fall feeling (yes with the air conditioner on) bask in the glow of (No not perspiration) fall candles, mums in bloom, fall signs welcoming neighbors over, I set my fall things out, ok a little early!!!! Not to put pressure on other dear bloggers, no never....just purely for my enjoyment. Once it is over, the pressure begins!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Debbie
Robin -
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad...I don't decorate my home for the seasons, except for Christmas. Egads, you say!
Honestly, I do so much decorating at my shop that I'm "decorated out" when it's time to do my own home.
At Christmas-time I bribe my daughter to decorate our house. Honest.
Pam
You're supposed to decorate? For FAll?
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a newlywed, and excited to be a little homemaker, I used to decorate for EVERYTHING>
Now, I'm lucky just to have my house vaccumed. I don't plan on pulling any decorations out for quite a while.
I'm actually dreading Christmas, just because of the decorating.
I am really planning on going to the Festival of Trees auction this year, so I don't have to decorate my tree anymore.
I have only decorated the two bookcases that I showed on my blog. I need to get crackin' on the rest, though.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait until you do!!
Elise
Fall hasn't even crossed my mind. We don't get fall until the end of Oct around here. I like looking at your pics though. I can live vicariously!
ReplyDeleteLOL - we love you anyway Robin. Not everyone is as anal as me and some of the other bloggers! I spent today cleaning up a bunch of annuals and container plants and I decided blog or no blog, I am not doing as much next spring!
ReplyDeleteHi Robin, I would love to see more of your mom's home! The sneak peek is very inviting and beautiful! Her table arrangement is really pretty! I only decorate for Fall early, because it is my favorite season, and I love the rich, warm colors! ...and it makes me "think" I am coolor in this southern heat and humidity! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good visit with your family! And please do add me to your blogroll! I enjoy visiting here, and had planned to add you also! :) ~Rhonda
No, Robin, you are not alone! Thanksgiving Day I'll put my fall tablecloth on the table. Honestly, I'll be doing good if I get the house decorated for Christmas!
ReplyDeleteNo, you are not the only one. I have not started a thing yet. However, the temperatures are just now getting out of the 90's in my neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your tip on the package cutter. Those get so frustrating.
ReplyDeleteRobin, I am kinda with ya girl, I stared mine a few days ago....but I have not finished it! I hope to have it finished before the weekend. Blessings, nancy
ReplyDeleteI got my crow plaque today.....LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteYou've been too busy getting the Christmas Stocking Exchange going to think about decorating for fall. Can't wait to see what you will post for me to copy!
Love your mom's table so pretty.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about the fall decorating once cooler weather hits you will get in the mood.
Rondell
Robin, could you email me your address again. Mattie has your bracelets ready to send :) I somehow didn't save that one.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that rooster!
ReplyDeleteYou are NOT alone!!! ALTHOUGH, I DID buy some cute things the other day... when I get home in a couple of weeks I can put them out, take a pic and post it!!! LOVE your moms decor....
ReplyDeleteHi Robin, First let me say "thank you for your prayers" and second: No you're obviously not the only one that hasn't decorated for fall yet! I sure haven't even thought about decorating for fall yet, but now that cooler weather is on the way, it does put you more in a mood for it! I probably won't be decorating this fall though as I might be moving in the next couple months!
ReplyDeleteI actually plan to pull my Halloween and fall stuff out tomorrow. I have some really cute prim kitties I bought at a craft fair!
