Floral Bows 101

{Our daughter Brenda}
Some of you might need to make floral bows for a upcoming wedding...
Or for a little ones room...

Or to decorate for fall...

And Christmas is always right around the corner...

Here are the supplies you need...
Sharp scissors
Wire Cutters -don't be using your scissors to cut wire-
20 gauge stem wire
Good WIRED ribbon-No satin to start-Too slippery
************************************************
Here is a video I made on how to make bows-I want you to remember while watching the video that the twisting of the ribbon after each loop is very important. The bigger the ribbon the bigger the bow-The bigger the loop the bigger the bow, and so on and so forth. It takes a little practice, you may not get it "perfect" on the first bow... Practice, practice, practice~You will be glad you did!

  1. I loved it! I learned how to make many types of bows years ago, when I had my first daughter. I wanted to make her hair bows and bows for her clothes, etc.

  5. Thanks so much for doing this, I really want to learn so that I can make the bows for presents, I've tried before but mine were always so floppy looking. I'm going to Jo
    Ann's today to get the ribbon and stem wire.
    I'm so glad you are happy with the award, I'm always fearful that someone will leave a comment saying "I DON'T WANT A STUPID AWARD" LOL Take your time and post whenever you have the time, even if it's after Christmas:)
    Have a great Sunday.

  11. Great video! Way back in the late 70's I took a class and learned bows. One of the most useful ones I took - unlike macrame and a few others I don't use! LOL

  17. I learned to make bows when I worked in the cosmetics department at Belk. I loved that job-not great pay, but free make-up and skincare, and the Christmastime was just so much fun. I love to make packages special with a fun, festive bow!!
