Sand Dollars Galore!

We had company visiting us all last week from California~ One of the places I took them was Dash Point to see the sand dollars on the beach. There were thousands of sand dollars there (Seriously there were.) ~ Here are a few pics I took:

I love the detail on this one.


Here is a live furry one digging deep into the sand to protect itself from the hot sun.

  1. Whoa, those pictures are so neat! If I happen to be in the area one day I will totally have to stop by this beach to see all the sand dollars. My kids would enjoy seeing them too!

  5. Oh my goodness...they are furry??? That's crazy! I've always wanted to find a sand dollar on the beach and have never been lucky. Guess I was at the wrong beach! - www.delightfulcountrycookin.com

    What a great place to take your company...I haven't seen live sand dollars before. Aren't they neat? Wow imagine so many sand dollars in one place...whew..

  13. These are beautiful pictures! I was snorkeling off Indian Rocks Beach in Florida one summer and came upon thousands upon thousands of them laying like shingles on the seafloor. It was incredible! Unfortunately I didn't have an underwater camera then...

    I have just browsed your last 5 posts... and smiled... I need shooting therapy right now... I love camping... the beach... and yeah... I am pretty sure those who know me would call me a coffee snob!! Love all your Washington adventure pictures!
