Outside Today...

~Cold Little Hummingbird~
Seattle Washington

ADDED NOTE:
This little guy is very healthy and has been with me for 6 years (year round.) It's not often we have real cold weather here-I always make sure their feeders stay thawed out and that they have places to stay warm when the weather does get chilly.
I have about 6 hummingbirds that stay through the winter. They love playing and chasing each other when it snows and all other times!

  1. Normally I'd say that was a gorgeous picture but since Jay is on his way there for business tonight, the snow part isn't thrilling me! I hope it melts soon!

  3. Poor little thing. Wonder if he's too weak to make his long journey? He can come to NC. We're in the 70's all of this week.

They are actually very happy~ They are hummingbirds that stay year round. This little guys has been with me for 6 years now! It's not often we have real cold weather here-I always make sure their feeder stays thawed out and that they have places to stay warm (branches near the house.)

  8. Beautiful pictuer! He's an Anna's, correct? We have them that stay all winter, too. Anna's don't migrate.

We didn't get a lot of snow over here it Bremerton. Just a little dusting. We're up on a hill & can see Silverdale from where we are, but earlier today it was snowing so hard, Silverdale disappeared! The full moon is out now!

  11. How beautiful he is. I love watching ours chase each other, so fun. I can't believe you have snow. It's been getting up into the 60's--and I hear it should be up in the 70's this week.

  12. Hi Robin
The little hummingbird is adorable. That's amazing that you have had him around all that time. You need to give him a name! Hope you are coping with the snow. We may get some later in the week. I hope we don't because I hate driving in it and they never shut the schools round here! I don't mind if it comes at the weekend though ;)
