Hymn:
"Up from the grave He arose,With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,He arose a Victor from the dark domain,And He lives forever, with His saints to reign. He arose! He arose!Hallelujah! Christ arose!"
Every Easter morning my brother and I would be somewhere in the house and my mom would barge in marching like a bandmaster with their scepter in the air! She would be singing in her opera voice at the TOP of her lungs to this hymn...EVERY single year-Yet every year she would catch my brother and I off guard!
Fast forward years later... My kids are somewhere in the house on Easter morning and I barge in singing this hymn at the top of my lungs~ The only difference is I don't sing opera and I can never get through the whole song because I get so choked up thinking about Jesus dying for us all. Someday I can only hope my kids will sing this wonderful hymn to my grandchildren too... Because Hallelujah Christ Arose!
Shout it from the rooftops people!
P.S. ~Good news... He's coming back too!
Acts 1:11 ~ "Men of Galilee, " they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."
True that!! HE HAS RISEN! What a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteOh-and before I read this verse I was singing at the top of my lungs..WITH my opera voice...lol..gave the Bestie Brittany a good laugh..then I read this post..it kinda weirds me out..LOL!
Praying for your Grandma, and I hope a save trip for you.
Beautiful memories, Robin. I hope we sing this song in church today.:) If not, I will sing it myself! I know what you mean about getting choked up about Jesus. When you truly think about what He did for us, it is overwhelming and incredibly humbling, to say the least.
ReplyDeleteHe IS alive and is coming back someday! Praise the Lord!
