iPod~iPad~iWant...

*****
There are NOT alot of material things that I want. I will admit however that I am an electronic gadget junkie!
For YEARS I wanted an iPod.  We have young adult children and grandchildren so there are always more important things to buy~ So when my husband gave me a little box last Christmas and it had an iPod in it I was shocked & giddy! (Yes, most girls like jewelry, I'll take electronics over jewelry any day!)  I use my iPod for everything.  It has all my addresses/phone numbers stored for easy access-I added many of the time zones where you all live so I know when and when not to call you.  I have the local traffic and pass reports on it. It has a place to type all my lists and notes and a photo center that I put pictures of my family on to show anybody that asks (or doesn't.)
In fact I just added a Kindle feature so I can read online books that I have purchased-It lights up for easy reading and is great for when I can't sleep and don't want to wake my husband with a lit room.
I also have some of my favorite website apps on there-In fact I was checking out a few the other day when I was in the waiting room of the doctors office. I can write E mails and leave comments too. I like that it has  password protection so all my private info is kept safe.
Oh yeah, sometimes I even listen to music on my iPod, though not very often! It's funny this is the main reason these little gadgets were made-To actually listen to music of all things.  So as you can see I loooooove my iPod dot dot dot~

But now Apple has come out with an even greater temptation! Seriously, why do they do this to me?

The iPad- It's the iPod that's just bigger! Pictures would be easier to see, books would have more words on a page, so much easier to type on YET not as big to lug around as a laptop.

Now I'm dreaming about having this in a few years. The good thing about having to wait is by the time I get one, the bugs are all worked out and the price is oh so much cheaper!

Do you or anyone you know own a iPad?  Any thoughts?

What's on your wish list?

  1. Hi Robin
No we don't have an iPad yet! Tim has a netbook thingy and Jessica has an iPod Nano Video. She has had her iPod for about 3 years now and uses it everyday mainly for listening to music. Just recently it has got FULL and she is having to delete songs to put new ones on it! She is getting a new iPod with more memory next month for her birthday and she is going out with Tim today to look at them.
I am not really a gadget junkie - on my wish list is a new front door!

  4. How funny Robin--I'm an electronics gadget junkie too, and like you, I wait until the price drops and the bugs are all fixed until I get a new toy, so I'm usually a couple years behind the times.

Just this week I entered a drawing at my bank to win an iPad--keeping my fingers crossed...

  7. I still want and iPhone! Jeff is really dreaming of an iPad, though! (Although, I would be thrilled with either one!) I NEVER thought I would like gadgets, but the day is here!:)

I love how you use your iPod! I had NO idea you could do all those things on it, Robin! Where have I been??

  9. I am with you on this. I have an iPhone that I love, love, love. Recently, I got hooked into my daughter's little nano ipod. I know, I have an ipod on my phone but frankly I haven't quite yet figured out how that thingy works. arghh... Anyways, the iPad looks good to me. I think I will put it on my birthday wish list....

  10. Yes...I, too, am very intrigued by the I-Pad and would love to try it out myself. I have this thing for pushing buttons...and Chris or the girls often have to bail me out from pushing too many or not in the right manner. :) Hope you get one soon and can share with us what you think. Enjoy your weekend, Robin!

  11. I think the IPad would be neat, but what I would really like is a new desktop computer. I use my IPod Touch all the time. It is so nice to have something small that doesn't have the monthly charge of the IPhone.

  12. Yeah, good luck with that one. I love the concept of electronic gadgets, but I am hopelessly lost when it actually comes to using them. Eventually my kids all get annoyed with me asking "how do I..." then they just confiscate the gadgets for themselves.

And your comments on my skunk friends (and the underwear mix-up!) totally have me laughing. But man, do those suckers smell! (The skunks, not the undies!)

  14. We have an iPod that we use for listening to music. Sounds like you have an iPod touch. I {adore} my iPhone, not sure I could live without it now, lol. I have only recently learned about the iPad. I'll have to ask DH what he thinks about it.

  17. I'm not really into electronic gadgets so much, but that iPad looks like something I'd like. But it's way too expensive right now; I can wait! What I'd really like is a Kindle.

  18. No ipad yet...I have an ipod shuffle, but all it does it play music--oh, and block out children noise. ;) I was yearning, drooling for a bamboo pen pad. I gave it up. I want to play with one and see if I like it first!

  20. Hi Robin - I have an Ipod - that I love for listening to music and audiobooks. Also have an Iphone - I am ashamed to admit how much I love that! My whole life is recorded and wrapped around my Iphone - it is the single best thing I have ever purchased. And - I have a kindle - that is wonderful - I love, love, it also! So - I won't be getting an ipad!

  21. Okay - I will admit - I like BOTH jewelry and electronics. I have all the jewelry I will ever need and there aren't any electronics I don't have that I can't live without at the moment, but I would LOVE my own workshop filled with MY OWN power tools - with a spot for each one when not is use. Mr Red Doors are a jumbled mess in the garage. It's too cold or too hot in there. So that is the one big thing on my wish list. I don't see addition happening though! LOL

  22. I heart electronics. I love my Dell laptop, my Zune for my tunes, my dslr camera and, yes, even my hubby's xbox when I'm in the mood to get my game on.

The iPad is pretty cool lookin'! Pretty soon laptops will be on the outs...

Did you see the news blurt about the guy who lost a pinky because a thief stole his iPad?

  23. I am not an electronic junkie. I usually can't even figure out how to work things. Lexi and hubby had to teach me how to even use my cell phone and to text ( I know you can laugh away at me!!!). Hubby would love to have all the latest electronics but he is usually pretty good about waiting.

  25. Well, I have an iPhone, but I REALLY would LOVE to have a Mac. I use a PC and a Mac seems like so much fun and they're so compatible with the iPhone. I would also like to have an iPad, but it's not at the top of my list...it sorta seems like an overgrown version of an iTouch, so I'm not HUGELY impressed, but it would be a cool toy and it would serve the purpose of a Kindle (e-book), which is another thing I've been wanting!

I posted the Eclipse trailer on my blog today, if you haven't seen it already!!

Hope you have a great weekend!!♥♥

  26. Not sure if I want an iPad or not... I just got an iPod Touch and LOVE it... I keep toying with the idea of getting a book reader but then I remember that I would have to download and ~PAY~ for the books instead of swapping for them like I do now :)The price of the pad is WAY out of my price range for now... maybe in a few years ;)

  27. Hmmmm now I want one too...hehehe

  28. Hi Robin! I think that is so neat that you finally were able to get the iPod. I don't have one, but it does sound neat! :) My wish list item is kind of a weird one~ wide plank flooring in our kitchen and dining room. :)

I hope you are having a good week! I was so happy to have a little sun today! Did you get some of it? I sure hope so! :)

    Blessings,
    Jenni

  31. No, don't have one.

I'm still waiting for the iphone. I can't get one until July without paying double for it -- which I refuse to do!

  32. Just stopping by to say I hope you're better by now and those last two Posts with all the 'Noelle' pics had me speechless. What a cutie-pa-tootie!!! My favorite was the first one in the post below, with her cute little face smiling in her car seat.
