Goodbye May...Hello June~

Wow, May was quite the month here at the Nest.

My Grandma May Geer (my mom's mom) passed away on the 23rd-Exactly 3 months before her 93rd birthday. It really shocked me that she passed on...I had just talked to her a few days prior and she sounded so strong! But we had a wonderful conversation which ended with me saying, "I love you Grandma." Her reply was, "I love you too honey."
All 3 of her children were around her when she left this world.
It doesn't get much better then that♥

Grandma and Grandpa are together once again~♥

On the way home from the funeral we got a call from our daughter Ronnie~ She was in the hospital.  She was at work and passed out.  She is having a hard time keeping any weight on.  She spent 4 days in the hospital having lots of tests done... The good news is we had her daughter Noelle with us... Ronnie has put on 8 pounds too!

Here is Noelle, the little booger butt we are blessed to watch over.

Peek a boo! (17 months old)

Lastly, here are some fun pictures I took of Tim's prom group. His Prom was ALSO in May...

Tim and his date Beverly.

Miss Beautiful & Mr. GQ

The guys pulled together and rented a limo.

Here's the group that ended up in the limo~It's a good thing the limo driver had a good sense of humor :)
I love these kids.

The guys beautiful dates.

Timmy will be graduating June 15th~ He has been offered a job as a electrician's apprentice... Which I have a feeling he will take though his heart is in missions. This fall he plans on going to Thailand with his youth pastor to help dampen human trafficking of children. Whatever you do son, know we are proud of you.

So without further ado I say Goodbye to May and Hellooooo June!
It's time to get back to some crafting don't you all think? :)  (Seriously, Christmas is RIGHT around the corner people!)

  2. Yay, a post! It's good to get caught up on your news. So sorry to hear of Grandma May's passing, reaching 93 is quite a milestone. I'm so happy to hear that you'd spoken to her just a couple of days before and that all her kids were by her side.

Wow, that's really something about Ronnie. I'm so glad to hear she's doing better and has put on a few pounds. That Noelle is just such a sweetie. I know you loved having her.

And then a prom in the mix--great photos. I always enjoy seeing the "kids" all dressed up.

You have had quite a month Robin. I hope that things will be calmer for you in June. Please take time to rest and get caught up with yourself after all that happened in May.

  4. Wow! What a busy month!
You are blessed to have had your Grandmother around for as long as you did. I lost both of mine before I was 15. I am sure there is great comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with her friends and family.
It's good to see a post from you! I hope your daughter is feeling better soon!

  7. Robin,

I am so sorry for your loss. I know it must be so difficult to lose such a wonderful grandma. You can go to MatthewWest.com and put her picture on a Memorial Wall and share her story. I found it today by accident.

Your son and his date look breath-taking. Is that your backyard? AMAZING!

Looks like he definitely has God's calling and blessing in his life. You did a great job in raising such a fine son!

    Love and Hugs ~ Kat

  8. Sis- You are one of the most positive people I know- and love.:) Grandma is with Grandpa again and can enjoy new memories. Praise God! Noelle could not be any cuter and you know I am praying for Ronnie. Timmy is on his way to great memories of his own. My sister taught English in Taiwan years ago and loved it. Thailand is going to be amazing for TImmy and what a great reason to go! The need is so great. Loved the pics from prom! What a fun group! Love, Me

  12. In the merry month of may...everything and anything can happen...and it sounds like it did!

What a wonderful thing that you got to have that precious conversation with your Grandma before she passed.

I'm sending prayers up for Ronnie...sounds like she's a strong young lady and her body needs to be strong too! :) Noelle, as always, is such a cutie!

The prom shots were very fun, Robin! Loved all the colors of the dresses.

  14. Hi Robin~

I am so sorry to hear about your grandma. It is still hard to lose someone you love, even if you know they have lived a good, long life. I am glad to hear that Ronnie has been able to gain some weight, and is feeling better. AND as for Noelle, well she is just as cute as can be! I can't believe she is 17 months old!

It definitely looks like the prom group had a blast! That is so neat that your son has a heart for missions. I am sure the Lord will bless that desire. Our church (University Presbyterian in Seattle) is sending a couple of college students to Thailand's Red Light District this summer. I will be praying for your son and his youth pastor as they go to Thailand...

I sure hope you are having a good week!

    Blessings, :)
    Jenni

  16. Oh my goodness, Robin, I'm so sorry to read of your Grandmother's passing. Didn't you take a 5 generation photo recently with her in it? What a treasure that will always be for your family.
What a darling pic of your Grandparents here. I'm glad you shared it with us.
The Prom pics were SO ADORABLE!!! What a man your son has become. It sounds like all his future plans are ones you can be very, very proud of.
And about Mt. Saint Helens...we were living in Eugene at the time. It was such an amazing event, I'll never forget. My husband was attending Graduate School at the U of O. We only spent three years there, but loved every minute. I'll never get over seeing the forest looking like a bunch of toothpicks lying on the ground.
I'll be praying for your Ronnie. I was glad to read about the weight gain.
    Take care of yourself,
    Mary Lou

  23. Noelle is such a doll- I miss having chubby cheeks and hands around the house- she reminds me so much of Sam when she was that age, with her "smiling eyes."
Hope Ronnie is feeling better. And yay for Tim! You are all in my prayers.
